This is a hands-on, in-office leadership role focused on shaping people systems and culture in alignment with TWR’s Christ-centered mission.</p><p><br></p><p><b>About Trans World Radio Canada (TWR Canada)</b></p><p>TWR Canada’s mission is to assist the Church in making disciples of all people by sharing Christ through media around the world. Founded in 1973, TWR Canada facilitates, creates, and supports Christian programming, digital resources, and missionaries who share the gospel through radio, digital platforms, and personal engagement.</p><p><br></p><p>Their work spans continents, and their heart is always the same: to share the hope of Jesus in the hard, hostile and unreached nations of the world.</p><p><br></p><p><b>About the HR & Culture Manager Role</b></p><p>The HR & Culture Manager provides practical and spiritual leadership in the areas of employee relations, organizational health, and human resources operations. You’ll lead initiatives that support culture transformation, talent acquisition, compliance, policy development, and staff care across TWR’s Canadian teams.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a key leadership role reporting to the President & CEO, with significant influence on the day-to-day well-being and long-term health of the organization.</p><p><br></p><p>Specifically, in this role you’d be responsible for:</p><p><br></p><p>Employee Relations & Culture – 40%</p><ul><li>Lead employee relations with wisdom, maturity, and discernment, handling performance issues, mental health concerns, and sensitive conversations with grace and clarity.</li><li>Design and lead initiatives that strengthen staff retention and foster a Christ-centered culture of joy and connection, through recognition, team-building, retreats, and shared celebrations.</li><li>Support managers through change management, conflict resolution, and performance coaching.</li><li>Champion a renewed culture of accountability, care, and Christ-centered values following a season of organizational change.</li><li>Help rebuild morale and belonging across a distributed team, including remote staff and newly restructured departments.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Compliance & Policy – 25%</p><ul><li>Ensure HR compliance with ESA, Canada Labour Code and update policies in accordance with legal requirements and ministry values. </li><li>Advise leadership on legal and ethical implications of employment decisions.</li><li>Ensure documentation is complete and up to date, including contracts, employment offers, handbooks, and HR files.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Talent Acquisition & Onboarding – 15%</p><ul><li>Lead all recruitment efforts, from job posting through to offer, onboarding, and early-stage development.</li><li>Work with hiring managers to define roles clearly and hire team members who align with the mission.</li><li>Design onboarding experiences that set a spiritual and cultural tone from day one.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Performance Management & Organizational Support – 10%</p><ul><li>Oversee annual reviews and staff development processes, supporting managers with performance plans and feedback tools.</li><li>Partner with the President & CEO on departmental restructuring and organizational alignment projects.</li><li>Provide strategic input on long-term team growth and capacity planning.</li><li>Help staff create personalized growth and development plans, offering coaching and identifying training that equips them to grow within TWR Canada.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Compensation & Administration – 10%</p><ul><li>Coordinate payroll, benefits administration, and vacation tracking in collaboration with Finance.</li><li>Maintain employee records and HR documentation using digital systems and appropriate security protocols.</li><li>Evaluate HRIS and internal systems to streamline HR processes.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><p><br></p><p>Spiritual Alignment</p><ul><li>Demonstrated alignment with TWR Canada’s Statement of Faith, mission and core values.</li><li>Models Christ-like character and spiritual maturity in all relationships.</li><li>Willingness to lead in prayer, devotions, and spiritual rhythms of the organization.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Education & Experience</p><ul><li>3–5 years in a senior HR role (non-negotiable) with proven experience in employee relations, compliance, and culture.</li><li>Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.</li><li>Knowledge of Canadian employment law, including ESA, Canada Labour Code, and multi-provincial requirements.</li><li>Experience supporting staff through sensitive matters such as immigration, mental health, and restructuring.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Personal Skills</p><ul><li>High emotional intelligence, excellent communication, and strong discretion.</li><li>Experience building workplace culture in a distributed team (remote/hybrid/in-office mix).</li><li>CHRP designation and JHSC certification (considered assets).</li><li>Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>If you meet some but not all of these requirements, we still encourage you to apply. The role follows core business hours, Monday to Friday, with no regular travel expectations, though occasional evening or weekend work may be required for TWR events. The desired start date is as soon as possible.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Compensation & Benefits:</b> The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $72,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience. The benefits package includes dental, extended health care, life insurance, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), available after the probationary period.
